Yazdgird was the son and successor of Varhran V. He maintained hostile relations with Theodosius II's Eastern Roman Empire, and was possibly the last Shahanshah to pursue a policy of enforced state Zoroastianism. He was succeeded at his death in 457 by his son Hormazd III. |
