Levon became king after the abdication of his father, Het'oum I in 1270. He continued his father's policy of client statedom under the Mongol khagan, and maintained good economic connections with western states - there are even preserved exchange rates between Armenian trams and Venetian ducats. Levon died in 1289, leaving the throne to his son, Het'oum II. |
