Levon was the son of Oshin, and succeeded his father as King of Cilician Armenia in 1320. Being a child at his accession, Levon was under the regency of another Oshin, who ruthlessly consolidated his own power through murder and forcing the marriage of his daughter to Levon. When he was capable, Levon took his revenge, including murdering his own wife. His pursuance of pro-western policies and fondness for Catholicism over Armenian apostolicism made him an unpopular ruler, and he was murdered by his nobles in 1341. |
