Name: Javuka Brief biography: A king of the Alkhan huns in the late fifth century. Nationality: Hunnic Occupation: Ruler |
|
A king of the Alkhan Huns who is named in scrolls and inscriptions as well as on coins, unlike many of the other Alkhan kings. The issue with Javuka historically is whether to associate him as one person with different renderings of the name, or as one of several kings with similar names. For example are coins issued with the Bactrian Zabokho of Javuka (the spelling taken from the Brahmi JaVuKha) or a different ruler with a similar name? We know that he was son of the King Sadavikha. |
