Description: Fragment from the pointed base of a faience vessel in white faience with incised decoration filled with blue infill, bottom leaf or petal pattern, possibly lotus and above are rows of rishi (feathered) decoration.
Collector Marks: on back of sherd is the number 1767 written in pencil.
Cultural Significance: high quality two coloured faience with incised patterns and in colours of blue and white are distinct and known datable examples come from the reign of Amenhotep III. Excavated examples come from the tomb of Amenhotep III (WV/KV22) and from the site of Malqata, Amenhotep III's royal palace on the West Bank at Thebes.
