Description:  Obverse: bust of Justinian II facing, wearing chlamys? and cross crown, cross potent in l. of field. Reverse: K with cross partially visible above.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: None visible. Reverse: A…NO II (Year 2)

Bibliography:  MIB III Justinian II pl.39 Küpfer 47; DOC II.2 Justinian II pl.XXXVII AE 20

Notes:  Without inscription attributed to Justinian II because shape of face is not earlier in 7th century, probably wearing a chlamys, no trace of anything to r. of field and presence of cross potent in l. of field (unclear if attached). This excludes all other usurpers of this period. Also presence of ANNO on reverse excludes Leo III.
