Description:  Obverse: Bust of Trajan, laureate, r., draped. Reverse: S - C, left and right. Aquila between two standards.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: ...MO CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR ... COS V P P (Emperor Caesar Nerva Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacius, head of the principal college of priests, Tribune of the people, Consul for the fifth time, father of the fatherland). Reverse: S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI (The Senate and the Roman people, the best leader).

Bibliography:  RIC II 1st ed. 588 var.

Notes:  RIC 588 has the correct reverse type but the bust on this example is draped rather than bare.
