Description: Obverse: Christ enthroned facing on straight-backed throne, wearing tunic with r. hand raised in blessing and holding gospel on l. knee. Reverse: Romanos standing facing on l. bearded and wearing loros bordered by six pellets and crown topped with cross, with r. hand raised to chest and holding globus cruciger in l. hand, Theotokos on r. facing, wearing tunic and maphorion, r. hand raised up to Romanos's crown. Letters M and Θ above.
Inscriptions: Obverse: + IhS XIS REX REGNANTIhM (Jesus Christ, King of Kings). Reverse: + ΘCЄ bOHΘ' RѠMAnѠ (Mother of God, aid Romanos).
