Description:  Obverse: Bust of Maurice facing, wearing cuirass, paludamentum, and plumed helmet with pendilia, holding globus cruciger in r. hand. Reverse: Victoria facing, standing, holding globus in l. hand, and crismon topped staff in r. hand.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: O N mAVRC TIb PP AVC (Our lord Maurice Tiberius, eternal Augustus). Reverse: VICTORI A AVCC (Imperial victory). Mint mark: OB + *. Control mark: A, Z [in retrograde], H (1, 7, 8).

Notes:  Double struck on both faces. Re-engraved control mark; originally A but subsequently either a retrograde Z to be read in the same direction as the mint mark, or a poorly executed H. Whitting lists it as a retrograde N, and Hahn uses it as an example of an A control mark.
