Description:  Obverse: Bust of Christ Emmanuel, beardless and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion; holds scroll in l. hand; K to l. and retrograde K to r. of Christ. Reverse: Kneeling figure of emperor being presented to standing Christ by Archangel Michael; emperor wears stemma, collar-piece and paneled loros of simplified type; above the Archangel Michael, beardless and nimbate; Christ, bearded and nimbate, wearing tunic and kolobion; crowns the emperor and holds scroll in l. hand.

Notes:  DOC considers this type a provincial counterpart to Class IV in the series, attributing it to Magnesia or Thessalonica, while Bendall regards it as Constantinopolitan.
