Provenance:  Collection of Cardinal della Rovere (1442-1501); ownership inscription of E. and P. Hunt. According to a note by Dr E. Millar (sold with the lot) the manuscript was purchased at a Red Cross sale at Christie's in 1915, but it cannot he traced in the collection of Sir Chester Beatty (1875-1968); purchased from Sotheby's at the Chester Beatty Collection sale, 24 June 1969, lot 67, for £6,500

Once the property of Cardinal Domenico della Rovere (1442-1501), Bishop of Turin, who was probably the original owner.
