Handwritten letter from T.H. Russell to Professor Hillhouse regarding Horrell's moss collection. Russell says that he has "not heard a word from Cleminshaw" and so he tackled the matter himself and now the collection may be considered "practically secured" by convincing several others, including himself, to donate money to the cause. At the top of the page, the Edgbaston address is embossed. The letter spans an additional loose piece of paper.
