Portfolio of Harrods Christmas Painting Competition for Children, 1912. The cover is buff card printed in brown to show the title and a statement from the actress Ellen Terry. Stapled inside are 13 pages, white card printed in black.
The first page shows a second title, the list of 300 prizes and the notice to parents. On the reverse side are the rules signed by RICHARD BURBIDGE, Managing Director.
The other 12 pages are printed with line drawings to be coloured in as part of the competition. Each page represents a different month of the year, with the month shown at the top and MY BIRTHDAY MONTH below. At the very top of each page is HARRODS' XMAS PAINTING COMPETITION, 1912. At the bottom is the section to be filled out by the competitor given the name and age, parent's name and address. Along the left side is a dotted line where the picture should be cut.
