This replica of the 'Crown of Sila' is mounted on a velveteen plinth and encased in glass and wood. The Crown of Sila was discovered in 1973, still attached to the body of the last king to own it. It is thought to date from the 5th or 6th century. Sila was one of the 3 ancient kingdoms of Korea, spanning almost a thousand years and boasting one of the longest dynasties in Asian history. The crown is currently housed in the Gyeongju National Museum, in a room specifically dedicated to Sila treasures. It is listed under the museum's online catalogue as a National Treasure.
