This mans jacket has been made in imported navy-blue woven fabric, with royal blue rayon frogging on the lapels and collar. Following on from this the front of the jacket is also edged with black rayon frogging buttons and a fobpocket (watchpocket) with a flap. It is lined with lighter blue imported cotton fabric and edged inside with yellow, pink and blue striped imported tape. This particular jacket constitutes part of a 'Headmans' dress in Hausa culture. It was collected in Northern Cameroons before 1928.
