Description:  Obverse: Head of Probus, wearing radiate crown and beard, wearing cuirass and imperial mantle, holding sceptre, formed by pellets, surmounted by eagle, facing l. Reverse: Sol, naked but cloaked and radiate, riding frontally but facing l. in spread quadriga, raising r. and holding whip in l.

Inscriptions:  Obverse: IMP C M HVR PROBVS P HVC (Imperator Caesar Marcus Aurelius Probus Pius Augustus). Reverse: S-O-LI I-N-VIC-T-O (The Invincible Sol). In Exergue: Q

Bibliography:  RIC V 911 var.

Notes:  Traces of silver. In accordance with RIC, the Q in the exergue of the reverse is a mintmark (officina) indicating Kyzikos. As opposed to the RIC type, this coin does not include the F in the obverse legend and the mintmark is not included in the range of this type.
