Handwritten letter from E. M. Holmes to Mr. W. H. Wilkinson. Holmes says it has taken every spare evening this month to make out a list of the books and pamphlets of the algae. He says that he has not been able to price many of the pamphlets as they are not offered for sale and many have been sent to Holmes by the authors in exchange for specimens or papers, many of which have the autographs of their authors on. The list of valuable books amount to about £250 and he gives their author's names. Also gives the names of the authors that have not been listed. It seems that W. A. Cadbury is interested in purchasing them. The letter ends with discussion of receiving lists of lichens and sending lichens.
