Brief biography:  Byzantine rebel at the end of the 12th and early 13th century, based in Philadelphia in Magnesia.

Theodore was a governor of the city of Philadelphia in Magnesia, and revolted to become Emperor twice; once against Isaac II in 1188-9; then again during the chaos following the Fourth Crusade in 1204-5. He is assumed to have died sometime later in captivity in Nicaea.
